A lot of the vehicles that come to us from Flushing are working ones: cargo vans out of the yards near the creek, box vans, and the delivery fleet that services the Main Street businesses. Those have glass that passenger cars do not. Sliding side door windows, split rear doors with a pane in each half, fixed body-side panels behind the bulkhead. We source those, and we quote them the same way as anything else, by VIN and by the specific opening rather than by a general van category.
The method does not change with the vehicle size. The trim and any interior panel comes away, the broken pane is released, and the cavity is emptied of glass before the new piece goes in. On a van, that cavity is bigger and the load floor catches everything, so the vacuum work runs longer. Laminated pieces such as some back glass get set with urethane and need cure time before the vehicle is loaded again; tempered pieces in a rubber gasket or clamped in a regulator do not, and the van can go straight back to work. Flushing produces two distinct calls. Factory tint, yes. Most door, quarter and back glass comes with the shade molded into the glass at the factory, and matching the original spec by VIN gets you the same shade. Aftermarket film applied over the glass is different. That is a separate product and it does not transfer to a new pane, so if the old window was filmed you will need it refilmed afterwards.
