The Whitestone Expressway and Van Wyck approaches are the main culprits for Flushing windshields. Add the stop-and-go on Main Street, where following distance disappears and you end up directly behind a vehicle throwing grit off its tires. From downtown Flushing, take Northern Boulevard west across the creek, continue past the Citi Field and Grand Central Parkway ramps, and turn south on 127th Street; we are on the corner at the very next right, on 34th Avenue. From the Kissena Boulevard side, Roosevelt Avenue west to 126th Street works just as well and skips the Main Street backup. It is roughly two miles either way, about ten minutes when traffic behaves.
