Hempstead Turnpike is the busiest surface road here and the most common origin for a chipped windshield, with commercial traffic, frequent lane work and shoulders that hold loose aggregate. The Cross Island and Southern State handle the rest at higher speed, where a stone off the vehicle ahead hits hard enough to bruise the outer layer straight through. Event traffic around the arena adds low-speed parking-lot damage: door dings that catch quarter glass, mirrors clipped on tight rows. Winter brine on the parkways is what hazes headlight lenses here, and it works into the moldings around the windshield as well. Take the Cross Island Parkway north to the Grand Central Parkway westbound and come off at the Corona exits; from Northern Boulevard, turn south on 127th Street and take the very next right to reach our corner on 34th Avenue. It is a short enough run that plenty of Elmont customers just drive in, especially when the car needs a static camera calibration.
