Calibration is $150 to $300 in addition to the glass, adding under an hour on most late-model vehicles. Richmond Hill is about twenty minutes from the shop. Not every car needs it, and we confirm from your year, make and model before it goes anywhere near your quote.

The mix of vehicles in this part of the borough runs wide, from cars well past a decade old to current model years, and the first useful thing we can do is tell you which side of the line yours falls on. Plenty of the cars we replace glass on from these streets have no forward camera at all, and quoting them a calibration would be charging for nothing. Others have the full assist package and absolutely need it. The tell is a camera housing at the top of the windshield behind the mirror, plus features like lane-keep, forward-collision warning or adaptive cruise.
Where it is needed, the work is done here after the glass. The windshield goes in with the bracket seated to specification, the adhesive gets its safe drive-away time, then the manufacturer's procedure runs: targets measured out on a level floor, a dynamic relearn drive, or both in the order specified. We verify the features report correctly and produce a written calibration record. What we will not do is add the line to a quote because the car looks modern. If your vehicle does not have the systems, you do not pay for the service.
“Affordable price, friendly staff, and super fast service! Highly recommend!”

A specific thing catches people out on cars bought used around here. A second-hand vehicle may have had its windshield replaced once already by somebody who skipped this step, in which case the camera has been working from a wrong reference for however long you have owned it. You would not necessarily know. When we take an older replacement windshield out and the bracket or the glass looks aftermarket, we mention it, and the calibration we do afterwards corrects whatever was left behind. It is one of the few benefits of needing new glass: the assist systems end up properly set for the first time in years. Ask us to check yours while the old glass is still in and you will know either way.
Same service, same price, other Queens neighborhoods:
Usually you cannot from the driver's seat, which is the problem. Occasionally there are symptoms, such as lane-keep nudging inconsistently or automatic braking reacting oddly, but often there is nothing obvious. If the glass has an aftermarket marking in the corner and the service history shows no calibration, assume it was skipped and have it done with the next replacement.
No. If there is no forward camera behind the mirror and none of the assist features are present, there is nothing to calibrate and the line does not appear. Send the year, make and model with your quote request and we will settle it before you come in, so the price you are given is the price you pay.
