Commercial vehicles have quietly caught up on driver assistance, and a lot of Woodside operators have not registered it yet. Recent vans and crew-cab pickups come with lane-departure warning, forward-collision alert and automatic braking as standard on many trims, with the camera in exactly the same place as on a passenger car, behind the mirror and looking through the windshield. Replace that glass without recalibrating and the systems on a fully loaded van are working from an incorrect reference.
Load is the wrinkle that matters on these vehicles. Static calibration assumes the car is at its normal ride height with correct tire pressures, so a van sitting on its bump stops under half a ton of stock is not in a valid state for the procedure. We ask that the vehicle arrives at a reasonable working weight, tires at placard pressure, nothing unusual in the back. If yours normally runs loaded, say so and we will talk it through. Once the conditions are right, the procedure is the same as any car: targets or a relearn drive or both, then verification and a written report.

There is a scheduling reality specific to trade vehicles from these blocks. A van cannot usually give up a weekday, and calibration is not a job to rush at the end of an afternoon since it needs an uninterrupted bay and a proper sequence. Saturday works well for that, when the shop is quieter and a long-wheelbase van has room to sit square in front of the targets without anything parked close by. Book it rather than dropping in, give us the VIN so the correct windshield with the right bracket is waiting, and the whole thing including the glass fits comfortably inside a Saturday morning. Static calibration measures target positions relative to the vehicle at its normal ride height, so a van squatting under a heavy load is outside the valid range. If the van essentially lives loaded, tell us when you book and we will work out the right approach before you arrive.
The forward camera is affected by the windshield and always needs recalibrating after a glass replacement. Radar, where the vehicle has it, is normally mounted at the front of the body and is not disturbed by glass work, though we align it where the situation calls for it.
